I invite you into my rustic farmhouse as I share my free spirited Boho Chic Christmas decor, getting ready for the beautiful holiday season and a houseful of friends and family. I love rustic woods and eclectic finds that I blend into Christmas decor keeping it light-hearted, magical and colorful. The Christmas wreath accents the warm patina of the antique carved barn door that is the focal point of the living room. Patchwork sari pillows, colorful sheer curtains and the tribal colorful damchiyas from India that I am using as nightstands in my bedroom give an edgy eclectic boho vibe.
I take inspiration from the mid-century rustic holiday decor of the past where vintage woods play a huge part in grounding energies along with lots of greenery and handloom cotton throws that are so vagabond in their color. My aesthetic has now become more colorful and I love pops of color strewn through the house. My obsession with old wood cabinets and handcrafted furniture in natural wood tones with colorful tiles as well as rustic farmhouse tables in whitewashed woods plays against metal chairs and upholstered benches.
The Christmas tree has a vintage mid-century feel, with old handmade dolls and ornaments, my need for the holistic vibe brings in agate crystals and lapiz lazuli malas that injects some boho warmth into the decor. My kitchen has pendant lights and a hand carved lotus screen that I have lit up with recessed lighting such that the soft glow is welcoming and warming. Large wooden candle stands and a life size Buddha sitting quietly in the corner brings in beautiful energy.
Ornately carved sofas in medium wood tones and beige velvet upholstery gives the living room a Victorian appeal. The uniqueness of handcarved wood and the floral medley of carvings is like bringing nature into your home. Artistic furniture custom made for you inspires the mood to go beyond the normal. Christmas is the time for love and gifting loved ones with all the precious blessings of the universe. Handcrafted consoles and hall tables decked with traditional bouquets of fall flowers and lush green potted plants lit up with lights give the festive vibe.
My love of bold colors like the red crushed velvet curtains blends with the rustic textures and patterns of old sideboards and a relaxed bohemian-inspired space comes alive.
